HMD Global, the Finnish licensee of Nokia brand, launched the Nokia 7.1 early this month at an event in London. The company has hosted an event in India few days later where it was expected to launch the smartphone for the Indian market but the company launched Nokia 3.1 Plus instead. Now, a new report claims that HMD Global is planning to launch the Nokia 7.1 in India sometime next month.

According to 91mobiles, the Nokia 7.1 Plus will be launched in India in November and the smartphone will be exclusively available via online platform. The smartphone was recently showcased at India Mobile Congress 2018 being held in the national capital. The report claims the Nokia 7.1 will be priced below Rs 30,000 when it becomes official, suggesting it will be the successor to the Nokia 7 plus in India.

HMD Global had launched the Nokia 7.1 at a retail price of €299 (around Rs 25,400) for the European market early this month. It seems to be sticking with the same pricing for the Indian market as well. The report also contradicts previous rumors suggesting Nokia will only launch the Nokia 7.1 Plus in India, which was recently launched in China as the Nokia X7. At a retail price of over Rs 25,000, the Nokia 7.1 will be a tough sell, especially in India, where the competition is very much fierce.
